What success looks like in this role:

Unisys is looking for senior, experienced Architect who will be setting direction and product architecture for various Application Development products which are mainly based on Microsoft and Web technology solutions. This role will be key in setting technical direction towards application products. In addition, this role will help to drive the establishment of ClearPath Application products competency at Unisys India Technology Center.

Role Description

• Should have experience in developing Product architecture based on Microsoft and Web technologies
• Perform technology investigations to develop and maintain the knowledge base of current leading edge and developing technologies with the goal of using the knowledge to identify emerging business opportunities and in support of existing business programs.
• Aid in the dissemination of technical information in the field of specialization throughout the organization through teaching, maintaining knowledge base portals, and other available means (e.g., individual consulting).
• Produce project guidelines and/or specifications to insure projects take advantage of current and emerging technologies, provide value in the market place, and are in line with program planning needs.
• Participate in discussions to conceptualize and prioritize the product requirements with internal and external stakeholders
• Interact with clients to troubleshoot issues and challenges in the adaptation of our products and solutions by the clients
• Performance tune the applications to ensure the competitiveness of our products and solutions in the market place
• Understand the competition and market needs to help Unisys stay abreast of competition by fine tuning our products/solutions constantly
• Represent Unisys in technical forums and seminars
• Interface with Engineering partners like Clients, Marketing, Services, etc. and lead technical discussions in complex engagements and emerging business models

Qualification Graduate / Post graduate in Engineering. Preferred: Computer Science as specialization

Experience 20 to 25 years of relevant experience

Primary Skills

• Provides expertise on current and relevant technological, professional and market knowledge in Application Development products using Microsoft and Web technologies
• Experience in Cloud technologies and Microservices will be an added advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good command over English language
• To provide direction and guidance for these products and ensure that the Application products evolve with emerging technologies
• Provides expertise on current and relevant technological, professional and/or market knowledge in areas of specialization.
• Leads development and application of advanced engineering methods and techniques to the analysis, definition, development, evaluation, integration, qualification and/or support of complex products, tools, or technologies in one or more specialized fields.
• Perform technology investigations to develop and maintain the knowledge base of current leading edge and developing technologies with the goal of using the knowledge to identify emerging business opportunities and in support of existing business programs, in a cross cultural environment.
• Represents current organization in cross-organization discussions. Is visible, known and accessible throughout the entire organization.
• Consult with project teams on technology and solutions
• Having one or more technical areas encompassing the software and hardware engineering and integrated technology stacks
• Understanding of systems engineering and the architectural frameworks
• Proven ability to solve clients business problems by leveraging technical solutions
• Deep understanding of Global engineering environment and ability to provide technical leadership in cross-cultural teams
• Prior experience in mentoring and coaching junior and high potential engineering teams to sharpen the technical skills and improve productivity in complex technical environments
• Ability to lead conceptual research projects and take the results / prototypes to large scale engineering projects
• Ability to take accountability for Product/Project roadmap
• Having strong technical background in the following areas:
• Expert in Microsoft technologies - C# language, the .NET framework. .Net Core and Visual Studio
• Web development language and tools including the following: Web services, MVC, SOAP, REST APIs, git, SVN, JavaScript, CSS, JSON, XML, etc.
• Experience in Mobile frameworks like Cordova, Android, iOS
• Desirable Experience in Cloud technologies and Microservices

Secondary Skills

• Hands-on technical skills on various software engineering tools spanning the Engineering life cycle
• Ability to learn/adapt to new products, technologies, cultures
• Ability to convert large complex architecture to easy understandable components for the engineers.
• Exposure to a culture of DevOps would be an added advantage
