Job Summary
  • Participate in and support capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for enterprise storage in conjunction with data owners and department managers
  • Work with systems and database administrators to implement storage architectures that utilize industry best practices including [Information Lifecycle Management, Hierarchical Storage Management ].
  • Install and configure storage devices and corresponding software.
  • Implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets.
  • Establish appropriate end-user access control levels for stored data.
  • Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, security, and availability.
  • Perform and test backups and restores to ensure that enterprise data is effectively protected.
  • Communicate and enforce, through system procedures, data storage retention policies.
  • Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for modifications to storage appliances and software.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, respond to, and resolve issues with storage devices, storage access, and data retrieval.
  • Research and make recommendations on storage products, services, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage equipment performance, space allocation, and data growth to recommend enhancements to the IT storage team.
  • Develop routines for end-users to facilitate storage best practices, including desktop storage administration.
  • Remain informed on storage laws, trends, and issues, including current and emerging technologies and best practices; advise, counsel, and educate executive and management teams on their relative importance.
  • Ensure that information storage measures and equipment adhere to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform storage server/database transaction and security audits leading to identification and mitigation of security threats to enterprise data. Recommend and implement changes where necessary.
  • Create required reports in response to business user needs.
  • Develop, document, and maintain operational processes and tasks.
  • Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.
  • Managing, design, configuration and implementation of HP, DELL EMC & Netapp Storage.
  • Provide Tier 2,3 support for backup server related issues as required.

  • Provides direct technical support in Troubleshooting and implementing, the solution for global infrastructure

  • Perform activities related to install, configure and managing SAN devices, Storage and fiber switches.
  • Administer FC switches as well as blade chassis FC devices.
  • Execute FC zoning for development and production, storage volumes.
  • Manage snapshot as well as recovery methods for storage volumes.
  • Execute across-site replication of significant DR data.
  • Supervise volume replication overnight jobs and execute improvements.
  • Oversee IO performance of production along with development of databases LUNs.
  • Provide architecture as well as performance recommendations to DBAs and Ops.
  • Conduct bottleneck evaluation to identify performance issues.
  • Ensure backup methods are in place as well as tested for FC LUNs.
  • Develop and maintain records for entire storage as well as FC systems.
  • Administer entire storage systems
  • provide the support for NAS, SAN and Unified Storage it includes Storage Health Check-up, Monitoring alerts and take preventive and reactive actions. Creating and management of shares from storage perspective. Good troubleshooting skills
  • Capacity Management: Monitoring Storage, Audit logs and take reactive and proactive action.

Qualification :
Any Degree/Diploma
