• Tackle Challenging Problems: At Velotio, we work with innovative startups & enterprises across various domains and leveraging multiple software stacks, clouds & data platforms. You are expected to be a generalist with ability to pick up new technologies.
• Manage multiple initiatives across a variety of technologies, platforms and customers.
• Technology advisor: For new projects & presales, you will assist in research, technology selection, design & architecture.
• Participate in thought leadership activities and present at technology conferences and industry events. Be a leading voice and thought-leader on cloud, data & emerging technologies.
• You will help to improve software engineering best practices such as software development life cycles, coding standards, code reviews, distributed revision control systems, continuous test/build/deploy, and security.
• Lead the R&D roadmap of the company and work closely with our CTO. Manage a team of R&D engineers.

Desired Skills & Experience

• 7 - 14 years of software development experience of which atleast 2+ years is into R&D, software architecture or CTO role.
• Enjoy experimenting with newer tech stacks & platforms. Should have experience with creating POCs and solutioning.
• Work collaboratively to ideate and incubate proof of concepts, MVPs and solutions. We may commercialise promising MVPs.
• Experience in building products from white-board stage to commercial products and solutions
• Experience in building web and/or mobile apps using latest frameworks.
• Experience in one or more of languages/frameworks - JavaScript, Python, RoR, etc.
• Experience in front-end frameworks like React, React-Native, Flutter is a plus.
• Experience in building multi-tier & micro-service applications with exposure to caching, pub-sub, data security, authentication, messaging, containerization technologies
• Strong database fundamentals and schema design skills. Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, ElasticSearch, etc)
• Experience creating, delivering, and operating multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.

Bonus points if you...

• Have worked in startup environments developing products from scratch (right from idea stage)
• Have presented at technology conferences, events or webinars.
• Experience with cloud platforms, Kubernetes, security and/or data engineering.
