Junior Pricing Scientist Job in Vistaar Technologies, Inc.

Job Profile

Provide predictive and prescriptive statistical modeling for global Fortune 1000 companies to support pricing and revenue optimization.

Duties and Responsibilities

• • Perform customer segmentation, demand forecasting, price elasticity modeling and promotionlift modeling on large data sets including sales transactions, syndicated data, quote data, etc. for statistical analysis projects. Examplesof project work include:
  • Determination of optimal customer segments using regression tree and clustering techniques;
  • Modeling of customer willingness-to-pay, price elasticity of demand or bid price elasticity toanalyze the trade-offs between contribution margin and volume or loss rate;
  • Analysis of syndicated retail data sources (e.g., IRI or Nielsen) to create price and promotion lift models and forecast seasonal base volumes;
  • Application of various mathematical optimization techniques such as dynamic pricing, discount band optimization, list price optimization, promotion optimization, yield management, and deal price guidance
  • Develop new data analysis tools and enhance existing tools using R, SQL, and VBA.
  • Build functional specifications and prototypes for use by product development teams to add pricing science enhancements to the existing software platform.

Qualifications and Experience

• • Required: Master s degree (M.Sc., M.C.A., M.Tech) or PhD in statistics, math, operations research or equivalent.
  • (1 to 3 years) programming in general purpose or mathematical languages like R, SAS, SPSS. experience in R preferred.
  • Experience with pricing or marketing applications of statistical science or mathematical optimization.
  • Experience analyzing large scale, real world data sets and the interpretation thereof from a business perspective.
