Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities : As a HVAC Design Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing and calculating the heat load requirements for various HVAC systems and ensuring that designs comply with relevant standards and codes. Your primary tasks and responsibilities will include: Heat Load Estimation: Calculate the heat load requirements for HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings using the E20 heat load estimation method. CAD and Design: Utilise CAD software to create HVAC system designs and layouts based on the calculated heat loads and space requirements. Compliance with Standards: Ensure that all designs and calculations adhere to relevant IS standards, building codes, safety regulations, and plumbing standards. Plumbing and Safety: Incorporate plumbing systems and safety measures into HVAC designs to ensure proper integration with the overall building infrastructure. Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of heat load calculations, design specifications, and compliance records. Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to develop coordinated HVAC solutions that meet client requirements and project objectives. Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks on design outputs to identify and rectify errors or discrepancies in heat load calculations and system designs. Requirements: Skills: Proficiency in CAD software for HVAC design and layout creation. Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Excel for calculations and documentation. Familiarity with relevant IS standards, building codes, and safety regulations. Understanding of plumbing systems and their integration with HVAC designs. Analytical skills to accurately calculate heat loads and assess design requirements. Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and compliant design documents. Primary Skills: Heat Load Estimation: Ability to accurately calculate heat loads for various types of buildings and spaces using the E20 method. CAD Software: Proficiency in using CAD software to create HVAC system designs, including layout and equipment placement. MS Office: Strong skills in using MS Excel, Word, and other Office applications for calculations, documentation, and communication. Standards and Codes: Understanding of relevant IS standards, building codes, safety regulations, and plumbing standards for HVAC system design. Mechanical Engineering: Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to HVAC systems, including heat transfer and fluid dynamics. Collaboration: Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
