As a System Test Automation Engineer you will be responsible for understanding the product, and identify the complex customer use cases and automate them in the pipeline and maintain the quality gates for the enterprise class product testing. As a member of the team you will have exposure to the flagship VMware products like vSphere, NSX-V, NSX-T, Cloud Director and Services, vROPS, VMC on AWS and many more. You will be closely working with Developers, Product Managers and Architects to ensure that the product is delivered with utmost quality adhering to VMware's standards.

Responsibilities

Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive, well-structured documentation for System Testing

Design, implement and execute test plan against the new features being developed

Automate existing test design specifications for smooth delivery of sustenance releases

Estimate, prioritize and co-ordinate testing activities

Understand and implement enhancements to the automation framework which will improve the efficiency of execution

Understand the product use-case from customer Point-Of-View and come up with the TDS / test plans and estimates

Find product defects and follow up to closure

Take end-to-end ownership of a product related task and follow up to closure

Develop innovative solutions to help the team reduce manual efforts to reach the desired level of quality for overall product and testing process

Primary Requirements:

BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent

5-10 years of experience developing/testing enterprise class product with good interpersonal skills

Having a passion for testing and someone who loves owning the quality of a product

Coding and Problem Solving skills - specifically using Java.

Experience working in API/UI Automation using tools like JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, Jenkins , Maven etc

Basic knowledge about Virtualization and Networking concepts ( have used VMware products like vSphere / Workstation, Fusion etc)

Experience in Basic windows and Linux Administration

Experience in creating and managing Test Cases using any Test Case Management Tool

Nice to have:

Experience in VMware technologies vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vROs, vCloud Director etc

Experience in Non-functional testing like scale, uptime, performance etc.

Experience in working with any other cloud technologies like AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle cloud etc. is a plus.

Hands on experience on Java 8 features like Lambda expressions, Functional Interfaces , streams etc. is a big plus.
