What Youll Do

• Maintain existingElasticsearchclusters with datasets the size of 2.5PB and 26TB of daily ingestion

• Projects such asdeployingElasticsearchon AWS with Terraform to upgradeElasticsearchclusters

• Work with developers to investigate performance issuesand perform remediation actions

• Perform health checks ofElasticsearchclustersand indices on a regular basis

• Collect and analyzeElasticsearchslow logs and identify poorly performing queries

• ArchitectElasticsearchcluster for high performance and high availability

• Create a disaster recovery plan and conduct disaster recovery testing on a regular basis

• Plan security measures and make sure that data is secure from unauthorized access

• Provide thought leadership in theassessment of existing systemsensuringadherence to data management standards and practices, and developingbest practices, standards of excellence, and guidelines to enforce and guide behavior

• Configure and maintain Linux based OS in support of the database products

What Youll Bring

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing AWS infrastructure

• 2+ years of Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch,Kibana, and X-pack) experience in production

• Experience with multi-node clustering, architecture, development, implementation, and health monitoring of the system; knowledge of hot/warm/cold data/index lifecycle management (ILM) and Curator implementations

• Experience in troubleshooting performance issues and scaling indices

• Scripting languages (Python, Bash, Ruby)

Bonus Points For:

• Experience working with AWS System Manager

• Experience with any of the following monitoring tools:SignalFx, Datadog, Grafana

• Experience with automated configuration management tools and playbooks (Ansible, Chef, Puppet,SaltStack) and version control systems (GitHub, GitLab)
