Job Summary
Role Purpose This role is responsible for designing and managing the organization s computer and network security infrastructure to protect systems and sensitive information from cyber threats. Responsibilities Design and Develop Cybersecurity Strategy and Architecture Analyze business strategies and security requirements to identify system vulnerabilities and risks. Assess risks associated with business processes and operations, and implement measures to address them. Stay informed about emerging security threats and develop security architecture to counteract these threats. Identify and address security gaps in existing and proposed architectures. Conduct product evaluations to ensure comprehensive security across different architecture elements, such as layered security, zoning, API integration, endpoint security, data protection, and compliance. Perform security assessments following established frameworks like NIST, SANS, and CIS. Provide support during the deployment, configuration, integration, and administration of security technologies. Apply ITIL best practices to key processes such as incident management, configuration management, change management, and problem management. Assist with disaster recovery in the event of a security breach, attack, or unauthorized activity. Lead the development of RFP responses, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and security requirements. Offer technical leadership in designing and implementing custom solutions, using modern technologies. Identify potential solutions that integrate seamlessly with the broader technology ecosystem. Monitor industry trends and use them to inform future IT planning and decision-making. Stakeholder Coordination and Audit Assistance Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address cybersecurity issues and provide ongoing support. Assist in maintaining an information security risk register and help manage internal and external security audits. Support audits to ensure security best practices are followed and compliance with business, customer, and regulatory requirements is maintained. Help develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness training for employees and customers. Provide training on security issues such as spam, phishing, malicious emails, and other threats. Stakeholder Interaction Internal Stakeholders: Regularly engage with Program Managers, Directors, and the Infrastructure (CIS) team to provide updates, support, and collaboration on security matters. External Stakeholders: Work with customers to address security breaches, offer solutions, and ensure timely resolutions for any security-related issues. Competencies Required Functional Competencies Leveraging Technology: Expert knowledge of current and emerging security technologies (e.g., firewalls, IPS, DDoS, SIEM, WAF, endpoint security) and understanding of regulatory compliance requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, etc. Systems Thinking: Ability to understand the interdependencies within systems and effectively solve complex problems in a dynamic environment. Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge in cybersecurity practices and technologies, with certifications such as CISSP, Cloud Architect (AWS, Azure), and TOGAF/SABSA being highly valued. Behavioral Competencies Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey complex technical concepts. Managing Complexity: Ability to handle complex cybersecurity challenges and provide strategic solutions. Client-Centricity: A focus on delivering customer satisfaction through security solutions and proactive measures. Technology Acumen: Understanding of current technology trends and their application in cybersecurity. Innovation: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative security strategies.
