Role Purpose:
The Oracle Database Administrator will provide deep technical expertise in architecture planning, design, and management of database environments, including platform, middleware, and backup operations. This role also involves overseeing day-to-day database operations to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer Oracle databases including versions 10g, 11g, 12c, and 19c on Unix and Windows platforms.
- Install, configure, and administer Oracle RAC environments.
- Monitor and manage Exadata and GoldenGate setups for high availability and replication.
- Perform Oracle backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
- Execute database cloning, refreshes, migrations, and upgrades.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery solutions such as Data Guard.
- Set up ASM and manage migration processes to ASM.
- Handle patch management including PSU, CPU, and one-off patches.
- Utilize tools such as Toad, OEM, and SQL*Plus for database management and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and monitoring.
- Apply strong troubleshooting and performance tuning expertise.
- Manage incidents and changes as per process guidelines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DBAs during critical tasks.
- Collaborate effectively across multiple geographies and time zones.
- Be flexible and willing to work in shifts as needed.
Secondary Skills:
- Experience with OEM, GoldenGate, and third-party database management tools.
- Strong customer interaction and team management skills.
- Oracle certification is mandatory.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB is a plus.
