WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. WRI India s mission is to move human society to live in ways that protect Earth s environment and its capacity to provide for the needs and aspirations of current and future generations. Through research, analysis, and recommendations, WRI India puts ideas into action to build transformative solutions to protect the earth, promote livelihoods, and enhance human well-being.

We are inspired by and associated with World Resources Institute(WRI), a global research organization. Currently over 150 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Program Overview:

WRI India s Sustainable Landscapes and Restoration program aims to protect, maintain and restore landscapes to secure livelihoods of 700 million people directly dependent on forests and agriculture and strengthen India s environmental well-being. As part of this program, WRI India is looking to recruit an exceptional candidate for The Land Accelerator, South Asia with master s degree or diploma in the field of management/ finance/Economics with at least 5 years of full time, relevant post-study work experience.

The Land Accelerator South Asia is a unique initiative designed by the WRI India to strengthen entrepreneurial opportunities, enhance local livelihoods and incomes, and protect and restore India s forests and farmlands. This first-of-its-kind program for South Asia was launched in 2020 to foster entrepreneurship through a unique accelerator curriculum and support leaders who develop sustainable and profitable business models to restore lands across South Asia. Exposure to the Indian Entrepreneurial ecosystem/entrepreneurs will be an additional advantage. The position is most suited to an individual willing to take on the challenge of a new, fast growing, and innovative program of work. Her/his responsibilities will include:

How your day will unfold:

• Contribute actively towards the yearly launch of the Land Accelerator, South Asia with support towards logistics and day to day execution of activities in online as well as offline format (for more details about the program, see https://wri-india.org/events/land-accelerator-south-asia-cohort-2021
• Support the development of research framework and data collection tools (Online and offline Surveys, polls etc.) towards assessment of program Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), existing and potential market opportunities for entrepreneurs to scale-up, identification of relevant stakeholders and development of strategies and implementation plans with focus on core accelerator activities ( like outreach, mentorship, fundraising/investment etc.)
• Support the team in stakeholder interactions (identifying new as well as building on existing relations) and coordinating with program partners and ecosystem partners, whenever necessary.
• The candidate is expected to bring exceptional communication skills and be comfortable with interdisciplinary, inter-programmatic, geographically dispersed teams for program coordination and working with entrepreneurs to build their pitching and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of business finance and economics to help team in understanding the business viability of different and diverse innovative restoration business models.
• Identify existing and new financing options (Public and Private) to support land restoration entrepreneurs, to facilitate them to explore multiple platforms for accessing financial support to scaleup.
• Write and edit material including blog posts, op-eds, articles and other compelling communications at short notice, that serves to translate technical material for various audiences.
• Support the team in carrying out research, data analyses and subsequent documentation on different aspects of land accelerator like key land restoration business models, knowledge products, brochure etc.

Qualifications:

• Master s Degree or diploma in the field of management/ finance/economics
• At least 5 years of full time, relevant post-study work experience. Exposure to the Indian Entrepreneurial ecosystem/entrepreneurs will be an additional advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven track record of analysis, writing and working with interdisciplinary teams
• Flexible and self-motivated, with
  • capacity to multi-task and prioritise
  • should be a self-starter and have the ability to manage the tasks with minimum guidance
  • ability to meet tight deadlines and work in a high-paced environment
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi is essential.

Location:Delhi, India

Duration:1 year, with possibility of extension based on performance

Start Date:1st March, 2022

Salary and Benefits:8,00,000 to 9,00,000 INR CTC

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
