What you should have?
Primary Skills:
- Broad technical knowledge of the Hyper-converged data center infrastructure pillars: Storage, Network and Server, and Cloud and Virtualization strategies surrounding their planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization
- Design, Architect and Implementation experience in any below Hyper Converged Infrastructure
- Hyper converged infrastructure - VMWare
- Hyper-converged infrastructure - SimpliVity
- Hyper-converged Infrastructure? - Nutanix
- Hyper-converged Infrastructure - Cisco
- Hyper-converged Infrastructure - Dell VXRAIL
- Hyper-converged Infrastructure NetApp
- Engagement lead is based on being up to date with the latest hardware developments (e.g.- VXLAN, UCS evolution, Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Dynamic Fabric Automation) and Virtualization / Cloud (VMware ESX, Microsoft Hyper-V, open-source, different orchestration stacks, etc.) and the interdependency between technology and business environment.
- Expertise in one of the leading hypervisors is a plus.
- Solid experience with Linux and Microsoft operating systems; experience with other Unix operating systems and OpenStack are a plus.
Also, a plus is skills related to Cloud App architectures and best practices, including:
- Cloud-Native Ops tools: Mantl, contiv, meso, Kubernetes, etc., including skills installing creating & deploying a microservice
- Containers: Microservices, Docker, Packer, Orchestration, Monitoring, MANTL
- PaaS: PaaS technologies and tools
- End-to-end DC Virtualization and Cloud Architecture integration experience
- The Architect is expected to be up to date and continuously working to attain an expert skill set in utilizing UCS/ACI in Tier 1 applications environments like SAP, Microsoft SQL, SharePoint, Exchange, and Oracle
- Working knowledge of white box COTS & vendor HW products on the server (HP, Dell). storage(EMC, NetApp) & DC network (HP, Juniper).
- Architectural know-how on special HW/SW based tech such as SR IOV, PCI pass-through, DPDK and accelerators
- End to end architectural know-how on following OpenStack components
- RHEL host OS & Linux components (ovs)
- Nova (Compute),
- Cinder (storage)
- CEPH storage
- FCoE and FC
- iSCSI
- Neutron (network) & SDN
- VLAN and overlay (VXLAN, MPLSGRE, etc)
- DC network virtualization based on SDN controllers and virtual switches
- Opendaylight SDN controllers and vendor-specific controllers from Brocade, Juniper etc
- Host-based acceleration techniques such as 6Wind
- Cloud Management Platform ( RedHat CloudForms, VIM controller)
End to end architectural know-how on following VMWare components
- Compute
- Storage
- Network
- SDN
- VMWare Nicira NSX controller
- Edge NSX data plane services
- Service chaining
- Cloud management (vCloud and vRealise) & VIM (vCenter,vSphere)
- Internetworking between Openstack and VMWare via GW and routers
- Internetworking between virtualized infrastructure and bare-metal via VXLAN GW
- The Architect shall be conversant in Big Data concepts and emerging analytics trends.
- Has a good understanding of data center management and orchestration, and enterprise application environments as well as key horizontal applications.
- Grasps the constant transition toward open-source environments, risks, and opportunities of open-source software.
- Understands the interdependency of domains, networking, compute, storage, security and the various current solution technologies.
- Solid experience with Linux and Microsoft operating systems; experience with other Unix operating systems and OpenStack are a plus.
- Scripting ability and conversant in Python and/or Powershell.
- Ability to deploy/leverage Puppet and/or Chef configuration management tools.
- Should have a solid understanding of DevOps development methodologies.
- Architectural knowledge of orchestration/virtualization tools and concepts.
Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:
- A Bachelors / Masters Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology or related field preferred and 10+ years of Data Center experience
- 5+ years experience in Technical Pre-Sales for Datacenter design
- Polished oral and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Established track record of success in Pre-Sales
- In the pre-sales stage, lead a solution team to analyze customer's RFP, being the solution architect as well as estimating the total cost and risk
- Applying a comprehensive knowledge of site, system and application DR and system high availability planning.
At least 10 years in one or several of the following competency areas:
- IT/Cloud Architecture Integration Experience.
- DC Management & Orchestration, Architectural knowledge of orchestration/virtualization tools and concepts: OpenStack, VMware Vcenter.
- Cloud integration: Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud.
IT Infrastructure Integration: Network & Security, Storage & Backup, OS, Database:
- Familiar with Operator's Applications: OSS, BSS, CRM, ERP, OA, etc
- Familiar with Operator's Architectures: ITIL, eTom
DC Consolidation and Migration Methodology and Experience:
- DC Consolidation plan and wave design experience
- Application migration.
- System Migration: P2V, V2V, Unix to X86.
- Data/Database Migration: Oracle, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server migration to each other.
- Storage Migration: EMC, NetApp, HP, HDS migration to each other.

- Performance Tuning of OS, Applications, DB and Networking
- Working on HA and DR architectures and processes
- Datacenter Migration - approaches, typical in given timelines.
- You have to work and understand common public cloud offers (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
- Performing Business Impact Analyses for critical systems, applications, and process
- Need to develop continuity and recovery strategies.
- Analyze, evaluate and recommend technical solutions for stakeholders.
- Work with Dimensional technology and business owners to assist in the validation of the disaster recovery strategies for critical applications and systems.
- Work with technology subject matter experts to validate technical recovery scripts and work instructions required to recover critical applications and systems
