Job Summary DescriptionThe SAP SME is responsible for defining and leading SAP Upgrades & Migrations, especially to HANA and S/4HANA on public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP). The job includes working closely with Solution Architects, Cloud Architects, Sales/Pre-sales team and Partners. The role includes direct engagement with customers and prospects. Responsibilities include supporting SAP upgrade/migration approach definition, system design-architecture-and sizing, facilitating solution discussions and best practice definitions, and leading technical delivery workstreams for customer engagements.Responsibilities
  • Assess and define SAP HANA, S/4 HANA, and Cloud migration approach for customers
  • Lead SAP HANA and S/4HANA migrations for SAP systems (ECC, BW, SCM, CRM, SRM, HCM, etc.)
  • Provide high-level architecture, system sizing, and infrastructure requirements definition for future state SAP landscapes
  • Support system migration readiness assessment efforts
  • Evaluate version and module compatibility to inform upgrade approach
  • Recommend upgrade approach and options aligned to customer business needs
  • Support Data Volume Management (DVM) processes
  • Advice on SAP Basis support and process best practice
Skills & Experience
  • Leading large and complex migration projects on cloud
  • Expert in SAP system sizing, landscape architecture, design, and setup
  • Expert in SAP upgrade/migration, especially HANA and S/4HANA using SUM/DMO
  • Knowledgeable on multiple DB technologies especially in the context of migrations from RDBMS (SQL Server, Oracle, ASE) to HANA
  • Able to independently manage multiple priorities and demands
  • Ability to understand and articulate requirements in order to define solutions and benefits
  • DVM: applying data reduction in the context of HANA migration
  • DVM: evaluation of data growth and assessment of archiving recommendations
  • Experience with system migrations from on-prem to public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong working knowledge of Instance Types, Storage, OS, Network, Disaster Recovery, and High Availability approaches in the context of running SAP on hyperscaler cloud
  • Must have SAP Basis Platform experience and staff management skills
