Amazons Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) organization is changing the way we think about our workplace, so that we can keep our associates healthy and safe. We have just started scratching the surface in terms of possibilities, and are exploring everything from using devices to monitor and improve health, to linking together data from our buildings and devices to predict safety-related events. Our team is reinventing the way Amazon anticipates, assesses, and manages workplace hazards and risks. This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and comfort with technical teams and systems. Candidate should have a strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities:
Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
Conduct periodic analysis of trends and issues, which will usually span data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
Supporting the development of detailed reporting specifications for migration of offline analysis into standard reporting.
Supporting the business with different types of analyses (e.g., identifying trends, identifying inputs/drivers, estimating the impact of performance improvement initiatives, etc.)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years experience in an analytics role.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics. In lieu of degree, relevant skills and equivalent experience
Tech Stack: SQL, R, and Python.
Strong expertise with Statistics, Information Retrieval, and Data mining.
Demonstrated capability of extracting, transforming, and cleaning large (multi-TB) data sets.
Demonstrated capability of extracting insights/trends from large, multi-dimensional datasets.
Exceptional coding practices, with an eye on query performance.
Experience in building dashboards and reports to surface business relevant data and metrics.
Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
Proven interpersonal, written and verbal skills, capable of presenting ones beliefs clearly and compellingly in both verbal and written form to large cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical members.
Strong desire to push ones ideas into production, overcoming obstacles, in order to benefit end customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Familiar with theory and practice of relevance and Machine Learning.
Experience in scripting for Automation (e.g. Python, Perl, Ruby).
Familiarity with Operations and/or Industrial Safety.
