Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Address Intelligence and Experience (AIX) is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead one of its engineering teams.

AIX plays a crucial role in delivering packages in a predictable and cost-optimized way. As same-day delivery and 1-hour delivery expectations by customers become a norm, innovative solutions will be required to ensure correctness of an address, to predict the best times for delivery, and to deliver packages to the address at optimum cost. As a Software development manager you will create and manage a set of products that ensure every address is deliverable in predictable time and cost. The solutions you build will enable a aha experience for customers. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, testing and deployment of mission critical services. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, a strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop the long-term strategy for your programs and translate that into an achievable road map/action plan

Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments

Is able to dive deep and is never out of touch with the details of the business or the technology

Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team

Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach. Drives the team towards innovative solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
7+ years of relevant engineering experience
2+ years people management experience
Experience with OOD and object oriented languages

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree in Engineering or Computer Science or MBA
Deep hands-on technical expertise
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business and technical vision
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
