Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Amazons Inventory Planning Automation team is looking for experienced Senior Manager, Product Management Technical to lead our Inventory Prediction and Bridging (IPB) team. The IPB team is part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technology (SCOT) Team within the Operations Organization. The charter of the SCOT team is to maximize Amazons return on our inventory investment in terms of Free Cash Flow and customer satisfaction. We accomplish this through determining of how much inventory Amazon needs of each SKU and what to do if we have too much. This puts the Inventory Planning group at the nexus of operations, logistics, capacity planning, and our retail business teams.

As the Senior Manager of IPB, you would be responsible for developing the roadmap for how we predict what our inventory holdings will be and monitor our inventory position to determine if variances from the predicted inventory levels represent a defect that needs to be resolved or an appropriate reaction of our inventory management systems to changing conditions. In this position, you will work with retail organizations worldwide as well as the supply chain operations teams and in-house scientists, Product Managers, and software teams to identify new features and projects. You will analyze the potential customer and financial impacts of these projects, prioritize them, and create a roadmap that integrates them into our platform. You will also evangelize new features to our clients, working to accelerate feature adoption, track the realized impacts, and communicate results.

This is a highly visible role that impacts Amazons bottom line. You must have the experience and capability to prepare documentation for senior executives and align your roadmap with Amazons strategic objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity. Successful candidates should excel at diving into data in order to analyze root causes and implement simple, long term solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate is a leader who can prioritize, communicate clearly, and who understands how to nurture the focus, excellence, and alignment across teams to deliver on the IPB teams vision.
10+ years product management experience (or equivalent)
Track record shaping business strategy for technical products or services
Experience setting product definitions and roadmaps
Experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver products
Experience leading and growing teams
Strong quantitative analysis skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Masters Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science
Experience in inventory management or supply chain systems
Familiarity with data science
Experience effectively managing relationships at senior levels (VP, SVP, C-level)
5+ years people management experience
