DESCRIPTION

Our Fulfillment Centers (FC) are at the heart of Amazons rapidly growing business: theyre where we manage our fast-moving inventory. Our associate teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part in taking us where we are today.

Its in this logistics environment that we will need an experienced Health and Safety Program Manager to play a critical role. You will be managing overall Health and Safety standards and programs for INOPS while also working towards the continuous improvement of functionality and efficiency.

The candidate will be based on a regional level and spend time liaising with members of INOPS WHS teams. This includes attending meetings and calls, preparing and presenting data, preparing business cases and proposals etc. Aspects of travel will be involved from time to time.

Responsibilities:
Organizing and tracking programs / objectives for the Regional WHS Team
Develop, review, approve and improve internal policies and procedures in the respect of the countries WHS legal requirements
Analysis of data trends and developing ideas to strengthen the strategic direction of the business via WHS
Implementing and tracking Safety alerts, procedures to the business with systems to enable and support site safety managers
Supporting launch site progress
Liaising with INOPS Legal team on Regulatory engagement
Ensuring an effective SME network at a Regional level
Aligning with members of the same role in the other regions to ensure standardization at a Regional level
Writing proposals and white papers with data to support / challenge where required
Define plans to ensure a full understanding / implementation of global EHS Procedures (GEMS) within India
Conduct local assessments and audits
Ensure a robust incident investigation process
Drive programs to reduce the Serious Injuries in the network
Define programs to improve the Safety Leadership Index
Contribute to coordinate the INOPS sites within the region and to the SME/auditors skills development
Ensure a standardization of the best practices shared within the network
Work closely with key department stakeholders such as Engineering, Transportation, Procurement, Learning and Development, Real Estate, etc
Basic Qualification:
Experienced in project management skills, organization and rigor
Flexible approach to work, able to manage own priorities, workload and travel
Credibility and be able to effectively engage and influence other functional leaders and their teams
Used to operating at all levels of the organization from warehouse floor to senior management level
Excellent communication and influencing skills result orientated and tenacious
Must have drive, enthusiasm and autonomy
Able to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment
Able to work to tight targets and deadlines

+10 years of working experience in EHS
In-depth understanding of essential/relevant regional legislation
Experience warehousing and logistics beneficial
Bachelor Degree of relevance
