KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manages multiple risk resources or results within an area of multiple disciplines
Researches an issue/deal and identifies which elements of Risk or other functions that may be impacted, in the immediate sense and beyond
Evaluates issues in the markets, competitor changes and challenges, and new regulations for potential effects on the business' risk exposure
Manages risk strategy in addressing external issues
Directs strategic risk analysis in assigned business
Evaluates risk impact to the business in consideration of the business' risk appetite
Leads the interpretation of reports and analyses through a comprehensive understanding of risk concepts and methodologies
Ensures timely, complete and accurate data are captured in risk reports
Communicates and explains movements and drivers of business risk at a level suitable to the stakeholder
Works with the businesses to evaluate risk appetite
Supports risk reducing changes to business operations
FUNCTIONAL & BEHAVIOURAL KNOWLEDGE Demonstrates technical expertise, strong understanding of products, tools and associated risks
Applies best risk analysis practices and knowledge of S&P Global strategic objectives and the external market to impact business results
PROBLEM SOLVING Solves highly complex risk problems, takes a broad perspective to identify solutions Identifies trends and determines the root causes of issuesINTERACTIONS Works with business unit leadership to evaluate risk exposure
Works with leaders in other functional units to create policy or procedural changes as necessary
TYPICAL SCOPE & IMPACT Impacts the quality and effectiveness of related Risk teams by implementing the business plan
Builds awareness around regulatory matters and/or highlighting potential regulatory issues Links and measures impact of compliance and regulatory changes to processes
MINIMUM & PREFERRED EDUCATION Bachelor' degree, advanced degree strongly preferred
MINIMUM & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE / SKILLS 12+ years experience in financial services risk management
