Position Overview

Job Title Full Stack Architect (Java, Oracle, Angular)

Location Pune

Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT) is the technology partner to the Risk divisions of Credit Risk, Market Risk and Non-Financial Risk. This includes definition of the IT strategy and provision of solutions to allow Risk to manage all aspects of risk from the analysis of counterparty credit risk to the protection of the Bank's infrastructure and information.

You will work as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team. You will bring an innovative approach to software development, focusing on using the latest technologies and practices, as part of a relentless focus on business value. You will be someone who sees engineering as team activity, with a predisposition to open code, open discussion and creating a supportive, collaborative environment. You will be ready to contribute to all stages of software delivery, from initial analysis right through to production support.

You will be able to lead the design and development of enterprise software solutions whilst mentoring more junior members of the team.

The predominant technologies in our stack are Java, Oracle PL/SQL, AngularJS [UI], Spring. We are committed to delivering Cloud-enabled applications, whether on and internal OpenShift-based cloud, or from external vendors where appropriate..

We use best practice DevOps tooling to facilitate and Agile, Test-Driven development approach, including: TeamCity/Jenkins, Cucumber, Liquibase, Jama, uDeploy, SonarCube, Selenium and Gattling.

Speciality Overview

• The Principal Architect influences the organisation and the engineering community in particular to deliver solutions that comply with the Architecture Blue Print and with the Target State Architecture of the Bank.
• They have an advanced understanding of IT Industry trends and enterprise-scale methodologies, processes, techniques and technologies for delivering effective IT solutions that achieve the target state architecture. Governance, security and quality assurance is consistently and comprehensively implemented for their division.
• Collaborating with solution and Product Management, the successful candidate will play a critical role in aligning teams to a shared technical direction toward the accomplishment of the vision and roadmap. Architect supports solution development by providing , communicating and evolving the broader technology and architectural view of the solution

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to establish technical product vision and enable its delivery in an iterative manner
• Participate in planning ,definition and high level design of the solution and explore solution alternatives
• Design industry-leading solutions, in collaboration with feature teams, business users, and technical leadership
• Govern software being developed, so that it aligns to the approved designs
• Develop reference implementations of designs so that teams can learn by example
• Evangelise best practice architecture design and governance processes to ensure the department builds a high quality product.
• Provide leadership and guidelines on sustainability and suitability of the solution
• Support continuous improvement of the teams process

Skills

• Ability to work in fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities
• Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardisation ,reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility
• Experience in the IT delivery and architecture , application design and programming in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems
• Proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific technologies
• Excellent communication skills , both written and verbal
• Knowledge of diagramming techniques, exposure to design frameworks such as UML, Togaf beneficial,

Education Background BE/B.Tech/M.Tech

Technical Skill sets

• This is individual contributor role with hands on development experience in Java, Oracle, Angular and UNIX., including performance tuning, design patterns, and data modelling.
• Very good exposure to API based service design, including micro services principles, and associated tools and technologies like API gateways (Zuul), service registry and discovery (eureka, consul).
• Have working experience in cloud platforms like Google Cloud /AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift
• Also have good experience in TDD , BDD and Scrum methodologies
• Have good hands on experience on Hadoop and Bigdata
• Candidate having 15+ years of proven experience around required skills and knowledge.
• Understanding of the Investment Banking domain, ideally Risk functions
• Converting business requirements into technical design
• Candidate to add value and contribute in establishing tech centre of Excellence in Pune.
• Certifications around any of above technologies.
• Ability to work in virtual teams and in matrix organizations

Required Skills/Experience

• Participates in design sessions and contribute to robust design
• Contributes and adheres to the definition of development and SW standards to implement/reflect DB guidelines (naming conventions, encryption, and security settings)
• Develops source code, including descriptions, for all software Components in accordance with Detailed Software Requirements specification, the functional design and the technical design document or backlog
• Participates and guides others for code reviews
• Creates any documentation required for the role, including current state design, specification, requirements, future state designs, plans, status reports and managerial or regulatory updates.
• Integrates software components following the groups integration strategy
• Verifies integrated software components by unit and integrated software testing according to the software test plan. Software test findings must be resolved
• Contributes to root cause /problem analysis
• Fixes software defects/bugs and responsible for code quality and ensure zero-defect in their code
• Collaborates with Functional Analysts and technical Specialists to complete work, as required
