The Risk Chief Operating Office is responsible for the development and implementation of the Risk divisions strategy and vision, working closely with our partners in the business, infrastructure and across the Risk Division.

The Risk Business Architecture team has been established to drive both strategic and tactical change in Risks Operating Model by defining and implementing, through embedding in the Risk functions, a consistent approach and standards to design and architecture. This is achieved through:

  • Management and continuous improvement of the Business Architecture Framework covering all aspects of the Operating Model (Capability, Organisation, Location, Process, Technology and Data)
  • Partnership across the Risk functions
  • Partnership across Risks partners
  • Partnership with bankwide SMEs in each aspect of the operating model

Position Description:

Role Overview:

Risk Architecture is looking for a Functional Analyst to support the ongoing implementation and management of our Business Architecture Framework covering Capability, Organisation, Location, Process, Technology and Data.

The Functional Analyst has responsibility for driving and maintain the governance and reporting over Risks Business Architecture metadata. In doing so, the role involves working with the Risk Business Architecture team, the Risk functions and also across Bank functions. Collaborative working is essential for the role along with a proactive approach to their work ethic.

Responsibilities :

Will operate as the Model librarian (Reference assistance, instruction, outreach and collection management) for the following models

  • Capability Model
  • Service Catalogue
  • IGSA Alignment
  • Organisational Model
  • Location Model
  • Process Model
  • Measurement Point import

Will provide content governance across models and process maps:

  • Model Content quality assurance
  • Process Map quality assurance
  • Model Content recertification
  • Model Content change control
  • Model Content issue analysis and resolution

Will support the ongoing administration of the Risk Architecture Governance Forum including:

  • Meeting invite and attendee management
  • Content/submission collection
  • Pack preparation and distribution
  • Minutes capture
  • Actions closure

Administration of the Business Architecture SharePoint site including:

  • Permissions management
  • Content management (restructuring, checked out content, archiving of old content)

Development and management of the Risk Architecture intranet page, including

  • Risk Architecture mandate and structure
  • Model publication

  • The role holders will be expected to manage (content QA, publishing, reporting) the architecture knowledge generated by the London Risk Architecture Team via five key tools:
  • SparxEA Centrally managed models held under version control
  • SQL Scripting specifically focused on report development within SparxEA
  • SharePoint Project and design documents / artefacts
  • DB Intranet Risk Architecture Intranet page
  • Excel Advanced excel skills to support core analysis activities

People Management:

  • Team-orientated with good interpersonal skills
  • Actively supports the business strategy, plans and values, contributing to the achievement of a high performance culture
  • Takes ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
  • Acts as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment

Experience:

Has an awareness and some experience of basic Process Management tools & techniques.

Experience operating as a Functional Analyst or equivalent

Experience in Financial Services, with Risk experience a valuable benefit

Proven track record of delivery in complex environments

Experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives

Skills:

  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Data/Business/Process Analysis
  • SQL scripting
  • Business Process Modelling (preferably using BPMN 2.0)
  • Object-based Modelling Tool (preferably SparxEA)
  • SharePoint Administration
  • Highly competent in the use of Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePointAdvanced Excel

  • Highly motivated driver who requires little day to day guidance in the execution of duties
  • Good communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organisation; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualisations
  • Strong facilitation skills, deals comfortably with ambiguity.
  • Ability to negotiate and positively influence people at appropriate levels within the organization
  • High interpersonal versatility/flexibility, able to establish rapport/relationships quickly
  • Ability to work independently and learn quickly
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
