About the Role:

The Lead Business Systems Analyst plays a critical leadership role in evaluating and optimizing an organization's business processes and systems. They leverage their expertise to identify and implement advanced solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness. This involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyzing complex data, creating comprehensive documentation, and facilitating communication between business users and IT teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to gather and document business requirements for software development projects.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level analysts, providing technical guidance.
  • Analyze business needs and translate them into clear and concise user stories, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and development teams to establish a shared understanding of project requirements.
  • Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Partner with Quality Engineers and Software Engineers to review story requirements and validate system functionality.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts, conduct impact analysis, and recommend solutions.
  • Demonstrate system enhancements to project stakeholders.
  • Create flow diagrams and document technical solutions.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies, including Planning, Grooming, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and 3 Amigos.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging trends in business analysis and Agile methodologies.
  • Effectively assign tasks and manage project timelines and resources.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable to shifts in project scope, requirements, or technological advancements, guiding the team through transitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst or equivalent technology industry background.
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to analyze complex business processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Extensive experience identifying and solving business problems through innovative and practical solutions.
  • Advanced communication skills to convey technical information clearly to all levels.
  • Proficient in collecting, documenting, and managing system requirements from stakeholders.
  • Detailed understanding of highly complex multi-platform applications and systems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to create comprehensive reports, manuals, workflows, and specifications.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Preferred: Financial industry experience.
  • Preferred: Prior production support and troubleshooting experience.
  • Preferred: Experience exceeding expectations in other Agile Development Team roles (Quality Engineer, Software Engineer, Product Owner, or Scrum Master).
