Job Title Lead Network Engineer

The Purpose of This Role

This team take care of the overall Network Operations and ensuring stability of various components of Fidelity Enterprise network which includes routers, switches, proxies, load balancers, DNS, firewalls, etc.

The Value You Deliver

As Lead Network Engineer in the GNS-GNE team will be responsible for addressing incident tickets and providing resolution in a timely manner. In this role, the engineer works in collaboration with team to:

  • Provide reliable and stable infrastructure via standards, best practices, simplified support models, automated processes, operational excellence and outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Address incident tickets and providing resolution in a timely manner.
  • Secure the environment through tactical change management.
  • Work in a cross-organizational fashion to consult and enable network services.
  • Meets the needs of the business community in disciplined approach towards ITSM methodologies ensuring the delivery of information technology services.
  • Work closely with all EI divisions to ensure 24x7 availability GNS services.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

  • Experience with TCP/IP, including knowledge of common-service applications.
  • Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNs
  • Network Security skills: Load balancers, Firewalls, Proxies, IPS/IDS, Malware Detection, Web filtering etc.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to the network or security environment
  • Shift-oriented operations support, in collaboration with operations and engineering staff
  • Escalating issues as needed
  • Experience with HPE, Cisco routing and switching.
  • Network Engineering and Troubleshooting skills
  • Application Traffic Analysis
  • Switched Protocols: PVST, RPVST, MST, VxLAN
  • WLAN/LAN/WAN engineering and implementation.
  • Experience with Wireshark packet captures
  • Experience with ITIL and Project Management.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with 802.1x configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with 802.1x switch configuration and tuning for Cisco and HP switch platforms.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with Multi-vendor Supplicant configurations.
  • Documentation of complex technologies and topologies based on based practices

The Skills that are Good To Have for this role

  • Experience with Amazon AWS
  • Microsoft Azure/O365
  • Experience with ExpressRoute configuration and setup (Azure private, Azure public, Microsoft peering)
  • Scripting skills such as Python or Perl
