Core Competencies Teamwork: Works well with teammates both local and remote Shares knowledge and is seen as someone to go to for help Contributes in peer meetings Problem Solving and Decision Making: Demonstrates a sense of urgency; can triage incidents in order of importance Takes ownership of problems and follows up temporary fixes with permanent solutions Finds creative and innovative solutions Improves processes and introduces superior technology where current solutions are lacking Communication: Clear and accurate in both verbal and written communication Listens to both colleagues and fellow employees from neighboring departments Follows directions and provides useful feedback Takes clear and concise documentation to help adhere to and maintain existing standards Professionalism: Makes a positive impression in person, via phone, and electronically Models a can-do attitude Embraces additional responsibility Refrains from office gossip or conflict Adheres to corporate policy and encourages others to do the same Responsibilities Support/maintain multiple multi-vendor production network environments critical to the business Provision/execute network and firewall requests in accordance with security policies Assist ICE staff with problem solving and escalation procedures Understand and follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to same Provide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructure Document new and existing workflows to ensure accuracy of work and maintain existing standards Collaborate and work closely with Cybersecurity, Systems engineering, and Datacenter engineering teams Identify problems and inefficiencies within our network and organizational workflows and assist with any recommended remediation/changes to correct Knowledge and Experience 5+ years experience working with stateful packet inspection firewalls 5+ years experience working with layer3 route/switch platforms Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP with OSPF and BGP routing Extensive knowledge of NAT, route maps/ACLs, and routing policies Strong Packet capture analysis skills Automation/Orchestration and scripting experience Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects Ability to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem and resolve/escalate accordingly B.S. in CS/IT or equivalent relative experience Desired Knowledge and Experience Experience working on financial/HFT networks Advanced Firewall certifications Advanced routing/switching certifications Unix/Linux system administration
