Job Description

We are looking for a Data Scientist that will be responsible for discovering the
information hidden in TB amounts of data from multiple internal and external
sources.
You will be responsible to make smarter decisions to deliver even better
products. Your primary focus will be on applying ML/data mining techniques,

doing statistical analysis, and building high-quality prediction systems integrated
with our products.

Responsibilities:

• As a Data Scientist on our team, you will be responsible for managing
  ML/data mining projects mostly related to remote sensing data.
• Collaborate with colleagues from multidisciplinary science,
  engineering, and business backgrounds.
• Work with engineers to put recommendations/proofs-of-concept/
  models into production and monitor the impact.
• Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine
  learning techniques.
• Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
• Remote sensing data extraction, processing, cleansing, and verifying
  the integrity of data used for analysis.
• Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner.
• Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking
  of its performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and
  algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
• Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka,
  Python, NumPy, MatLab, etc.
• Hands-on experience in Remote Sensing and GIS software such as
  QGIS or Arc GIS.
• Good technical skill for Remote sensing and GIS-based analysis with
  exposure to Google earth engine.
• Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc.
• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig
• Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing,
  regression, etc.
• Good scripting and programming skills.
• 4 - 8 years of relevant experience
  Preferably Master or PhD degree related to remote sensing and GIS
  specialization from IIT / other tiers 1 institution.
