In this role, you will be responsible for project delivery, design management, and project coordination, helping Jacobs win and execute projects across a range of services. You will collaborate with commercial, project management, engineering, and design teams to develop, deliver, and operate impactful projects.
About the Opportunity
As a Design Engineer - HVAC, you will play a crucial role in designing and supervising Data Center projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. You will oversee project execution, coordinate with multiple teams, and ensure quality assurance at every stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project scope of work and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).
- Apply fundamental engineering principles and adhere to Indian Standard Codes.
- Supervise contractors to ensure execution aligns with drawings, specifications, and relevant codes/standards.
- Review and clarify discrepancies in drawings through Request for Information (RFI) processes.
- Approve quality plans, inspection & test plans (ITP), and work procedures submitted by contractors.
- Monitor quality compliance and issue non-compliance notes when necessary, maintaining a tracking system.
- Review and approve Erection Schemes, Installation Procedures, and Work Plans.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of Mechanical/HVAC systems.
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
- Prepare and issue punch lists, ensuring contractors address and close them efficiently.
- Verify and approve contractor RA bills and final bills when required.
- Monitor and ensure the availability of labour resources, machinery, and materials to maintain project schedules.
- Oversee the implementation of HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) procedures on-site.
- Follow up with Project and Engineering teams to resolve drawing holds and avoid project delays.
- Maintain joint measurement records for approved variations or changes.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the Construction Manager to ensure successful project completion.
What You ll Need
Qualifications & Experience:
- BE - Mechanical with 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in Data Center projects.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, design principles, and industry standards.
- Experience in supervising and managing Data Center projects.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with teams, escalate issues, and interact with clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
