Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- The candidate will be part of the IT support team handling all phone calls and mail support from the vessels and assisting with various issues related to workstation, printers, mobiles etc.
Key Responsibilities include - Work and operate with limited supervision, process the necessary documentation and data collection, monitor system performance, and perform required actions and respond to users within the allowed time
- Avoid occurrence of errors and take preventive measures to eliminate repetition of errors and suggest and initiate value additions that will help improve all tasks related to the IT process
- Maintain close communication with the users and update them on the progress of OT/IT tasks
- Responsible in installation/upgrade of hardware on-board Maersk Tankers vessels
Reporting, updating, and closing incidents according to the agreed processes within the IT service management application
What we are looking for
- An ideal candidate should come with minimum 3 years experience as a service engineer for Marine Electronics & OT equipment s with background in Information Technology, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication stream and minimum 3 years experience working in rotational shifts in a customer support role. The ideal candidate should have an analytical and creative mindset with an ability to find solutions using remote tools and with the assistance of the vessel crew
Key Capabilities include
- Hands on experience on navigational and automation tools such as ECDIS, cargo computers, engine room monitoring systems, integrated bridge system, auto logger computers, ballast water treatment systems, chart radars, voyage data recorders etc and knowledge on managing network on both LAN and WAN setup, TCP/IP, DNS server, Active Directory, DHCP and ITSM processes
- Experience in setting up PCs including BIOS configuration, Microsoft operating systems and connectivity i.e. LAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc, along with structured troubleshooting knowledge of PCs, printers, peripherals, network and Microsoft Office applications and support services
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure component including cloud technologies, OT equipment s and infrastructure on Tanker Vessels
- Hands on experience in satellite communication system (VSAT, FBB500) along with advanced knowledge in protocols RS232, RS485, NMEA and simulation tools, terminal services and thin clients will be an added advantage
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and training skills, handling basic tools and handheld battery drilling machines
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, good troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Willing to work in day and night shifts and willing to travel to attend vessels in port
