Job Summary Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
  • Work with Principal Designer to deliver Product Design/ Communication Design/ Packaging Design
  • Insight, Ideate, Conceptualize and Communicate product ideas with respect to a brief
  • Develop & deliver production ready data (3D CAD, Print, etc); Interface with Studio/ Suppliers to prepare Confirmatory Models
  • Interface with Engineering/ Manufacturing/ Suppliers and co-ordinate in execution
  • Ensure Design Quality in final production
  • Ensure timeliness of delivery
  • Documentation
  • Co-ordinate with Consultants to deliver designs of (varying nature) - Evaluate and Critique Concepts with respect to a brief
  • Participate in Design Evangelism Activities
Experience

5-8 yrs (Creative design in Product Design/ Industrial Design)

Industry Preferred

Product Design Consultancies; White Goods OEMs

Qualifications

M.Des, MA or Bachelors degree in Product Design, Graphic/ Communication Design or related fields

General Requirements

Functional Competencies / Skills critical for the job

  • a)Strong sketching and rendering skills - Execute on Adobe Photoshop/ Adobe Illustrator
  • b) Strong Design Research Skills - Desktop Benchmarking/ Customer Research, Trend Analysis, Developing Mood boards, Theme boards
  • b) Intermediate 3D Modelling Skills - Execute Class A Surfacing in Autodesk Alias; work with CATIA V5
  • c) Basic Visualization Skills - Execute on Autodesk Showcase/ VRED Design
  • d) Intermediate Presentation Skills - Flash, Adobe After Effects
  • e) Strong Program Management capability
  • Awareness of Color, Material and Finish applications
  • Understanding of Print Management; Development of Badges
  • Understanding of Engineering fundamentals, GD&T, Manufacturing processes on Plastic, Sheet Metal, Composites, etc
  • Understanding of Cost targets

General Requirements

  • Good Analytical Ability; Logic in Thought, Openness to Alternate Views, Systematic Problem-solving
  • Reasonably Well Articulate; Good Presentation Skills - written, oral and visual communication
