Job Summary

Position Purpose: The Data Protection consultant will provide input on & execution of global Data Protection Initiatives. Initiatives could include sensitive data discovery, data classification, data loss prevention, , Data Encryption, , & security configuration posture management. You will be an active member of security engineering team. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and possess broad technical skills with the ability to implement security changes across a large organization.

  • Recognized as a go to person who is looked upon to take the solution lead in Data protection scenarios
  • Ability to understand new developments in common cyber security solutions: data leakage prevention (DLP), Database activity monitoring (DAM), data discovery, classification, and protection, for on-prem and cloud hosted solutions
  • Provide thought leadership as it pertains to data protection technologies, architectures, and provide a forward-looking view into trends that relate to controls, algorithms, and methods.
  • Ability to perform critical analysis and resolve issues independently
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels and constituents
  • Role Experience:

  • 7 to 13 years of experience
  • Cyber security professional with real-world Data protection design experience to assess and significantly improve the effectiveness of an entire information security program
  • Role Description

    The Data protection consultant will provide direction & execution of global data protection service initiatives forglobal enterprise environments. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and possess broad technical skills with the ability to implement security changes across a large organization.

    Required Skills

  • Scripting Experience (Powershell, Bash, Python) is must along with cloud security exposure.
  • Experience in integration and configuration of technology products
  • Development and/or automation background preferred.
  • Experience with data protection technologies and tools
  • Experience utilizing reporting tooling (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Understanding of infrastructure concepts
  • Linux and/or Windows server management experience
  • Hands-on engineering experience in following : CASB, IBM Guardiam, , Symantec DLP , security configuration posture management, Hashicorp Advance Data Protection/Encryption.
  • Familiarity with DoE & NIST security requirements
  • Possess ability to design an overall strategy to securely configure database and cloud infrastructure with help of baseline config check tools.
  • Experience to Identify and collate sensitive data with help of discovery capabilities
  • Hands on experience with Gaurdiam to scan databases for sensitive data( Pure non GRC approach)
  • Good to have: Knowledge of setting up the architecture for Database encryption.
  • Hands on experience in Database protection methodologies, Database activity monitoring tools ( Guardiam)
  • Should be able to provision and update policies in DLP tools.
  • Possess ability to feature work on DLP tools to improve and mature service.
  • Ability to define a robust database activity monitoring program & Security configuration monitoring program
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Create DLP inspection Templates to identify sensitive data across the environment.
  • Check for configuration vulnerabilities in database
  • Perform Analysis of database activity monitoring and check for suspicious database activities.
  • Cloud Security posture management - Understand cloud infrastructure and provide remediation for configuration vulnerabilities
  • Collaboratively work with the selected vendor and internal staff to implement and integrate a CASB solution
  • Conduct daily operation and management of data protection tools, including event monitoring and analysis, reporting, remediation and resolution
  • Develop and maintain CASB documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist with deployments, patching, addressing alerts, and general troubleshooting of tools owned by the Security Engineering team. .
  • Validate deployments, traffic collection, create reports, and work with a variety of teams when troubleshooting issues.
  • Integrate current and emerging security policies, instructions, and regulations into the security architecture
  • Create and maintain security-related documentation.
  • Investigate, tailor, recommend, and implement architectural and procedural Data Protection best practices
  • Document results in technical briefings and reports and present results to Data Protection Leadership
  • Collaboratively work with selected vendor and internal staff to understand encryption tool capabilities, identify best practices, and partner to implement encryption solutions.

    Graduate - Bachelor's degree (Any Stream)
