Director Of Engineering Job in Springboard

Responsibilities:

• Manage a software engineering team that builds, designs, implements and maintains our product and related services
• Influence and establish best engineering practices through solid design decisions, processes and tools
• Contribute to the architecture of the system, take responsibility for quality and stability of the product by getting hands on with code and design reviews, debugging complex issues, among other things
• Collaborate with Business teams to develop a long term product roadmap, streamline and own the release planning cycles
• Mentor and continually assess, hire, and scale the team as necessary
• Work with current team for ideation, skills management, conflict management as necessary, and detailed planning of projects
• Undertake responsibility for multiple teams in engineering and ensure their success
• Operate with scale and speed, being able to deliver fast with high quality

You:

• bring 5+ years of experience in people management and 8 years of hands on experience in coding
• experience working in high performance software company esp. in startups or startup like environment, preferable
• experience developing, mentoring engineering team and working closely with product and other business teams
• outstanding organisational, communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills
• ability to instill a culture of open communication, Agile delivery, ownership, decisive & execution- oriented and mentorship while showing empathy towards co-workers
• understand building consumer internet platforms
• handled multiple large projects and have worked on operations intensive products
• have exceptional communication and collaboration skills, to drive consensus, work with varied stakeholders, and articulate trade-offs
• excellent knowledge and experience with various programming paradigms
• extensive architectural experience; understanding of scalable systems and distributed computing
• are passionate about improving education and seriously committed to helping build an organisation from the ground up, even if things aren t always easy
