This person will be responsible for shipping exceptional user experiences for the customers right through ideation until delivery.

Home services is a large, unorganized industry in India. Indian consumers spend ~ USD 30 Billion annually on home services. They largely rely on word of mouth and friends-family recommendations for search and discovery. There is no large, well run, billion-dollar Company in this category today. The industry lacks scale benefits - standardization,transparencyand trust.

In the absence of organized players, the current market architecture is froth withmiddle-menand aggregators, who control market access and keep a lion s share of the margins. As a result, experiences are broken for both customers and end service professionals. The industry could easily be 1.5-2x larger than it is today, if frictions in transaction journeys are removed and experiences made more meaningful and memorable.

What are you expected to do?

Holding a high bar of quality to ship exceptional user experiences on your projects

Developing and shipping with speed and consistency. We always have immediate needs to deliver on our product roadmap today, while setting the vision for tomorrow

Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Customer, Partner experience teams to define the overall strategy and direction for Experience, across all geographies

Contributing to our growing Bolt and Loki design systems with capabilities built as part of your projects

Regularly conduct research activities to get frequent, and usable insights to apply in your projects

Prototype and test design and product solutions fast, and multiple times to ship the best possible option

Understand every line of categorybusinessesat Urban Company, their nuances and design scalable solutions

Give and receive design critique to help constantly refine and push our work

Partner with engineering to ensure a high-quality handoff and implementation

Take ownership of projects, from concept through to completion

Work across multiple project deadlines

What are we looking for?

At least 2 years of experience at consumer-focused tech companies

Familiar with end-to-end iterative product design process, including how to develop and use personas, job stories, journey mapping, content modelling, wireframing and prototyping,

User testing, and high fidelity visuals

Experience in international markets in a bonus

A deep empathy for the user and a desire to learn as much as possible about how they use Urban Company services

Communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts

People-focused design mentality and want to design and build products/features that truly have meaningful, measurable impact
