Job Description

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will beprovidingsupport to customers, using VMware products, in isolating, diagnosing,reproducingand fixing technical issuesin a timely manner.To be successful in this role, you must be a motivated self-starter and self-learner,possessstrong customer service and technical problem-solving skills; and be someone who embraces challenges.

Essential Functions:

  • Resolve customer s issues via the telephone, email or zoomsession.
  • Reproducing issues in-house and responding backin a timely manner
  • Regular follow ups with customers with recommendations,updatesand action plans.
  • Escalate issuesin a timely manneraccording to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Leverage internal technicalexpertise, including peers, mentors, knowledge base, community forums and other internal tools, toprovidethe most effective solutions to customerissues.
  • Create new knowledgebase articles to capture new learning s for reuse throughout the organization.
  • Participate in technical communications within the Technical Support Team to share best practices and learn aboutnewtechnologies.
  • Focus on an area of technical specialization and attend technical trainings,
  • Read and work with other Technical Support Engineers on cases which will help cultivate thatexpertise.

MinimumRequirements:

  • 3+ years (with overall 5+ years) experience working in Enterprise Technical support
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are neededin order towork successfully with customers in high stress and or ambiguoussituations.
  • Work experience in a Technical domain
  • Strong aptitude for learningnew technologiesand understanding how toutilizethem in a customer facing environment.
  • Logical approach to problem solving & Strong Troubleshooting experience
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment. Flexible to work evening/night hours as per businessneeds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Virtualization & Cloud computing will bepreferred
  • Certifications (VCP,MCSE,RHCEetc.)
  • Basic understanding of some of the following technologies:
  • Networking (Layer 2, Layer 3)
  • Storage (FC, ISCI, etc.)
  • Linux/Windows Server
