Linux Systems Operations Specialist Job in Nasdaq

Your role & responsibilities:

• Proactive monitoring and resolving production environment issues with use of Zabbix as monitoring tool.
• Resolution of Incidents and Service Requests in accordance with SLAs and ITIL Incident and Change Management Processes.
• L2/L3 technical support. Troubleshooting and RCA of data processing issues.
• BAU activities including system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all services, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as batch processing and backups.
• Linux System administration tasks; advanced command line usage.
• Deployment for code/bug fixes, improvements, additional functionality to the application. Using Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Shipnazi for CI/CD.
• Use JIRA as ticketing tool integrated with Bit bucket for repo management.
• Develop and integrate process automation tools.
• Use Puppet/Ansible as configuration management and deployment tool.

We expect you to have:

• Strong background in Linux/Unix Environment and experienced Bash Scripting.
• Develop and integrate process automation tools using Bash/Python/Perl
• Configuration management tools including Puppet, Ansible.
• Exposure to Jira/Bitbucket tool.
• Understanding of programming/scripting languages including, Perl, Python and Java.
• Apache Tomcat/HTTPD administration and performance tuning.
• Good understanding of ITIL methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and Good communication abilities
• Understanding of monitoring tools: Zabbix.

Good to Have:

• Exposure to AWS cloud technologies. Prefer to be certified. 2 Years
• Exposure to Container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 2 years
• Knowledge of Splunk
• Networking protocols such as TCP/IP networking and routing.
• Virtualization, including VMWare ESXi.
