Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator works closely with internal departments and external vendors to ensure efficient and accurate receipt and storage of print products and timely despatch and delivery On Time. Coordinate our outsourced National, Regional warehouses for our printed books & journals products. Ensures that vendors execute operation processes in accordance with the service description & measure/report their own performance against the agreed KPI's. To monitor & drive performance improvements though CAPA(Corrective and Preventive Action)/Lean Initiatives. Prepare and manage reports of ware house performance, In Transit, Return Materials, details and close the gaps if any in logistics/WH performance

Vendor Management & Operational performance:

Ensure vendor day to day operations are executed in accordance with the Elsevier core values for Safety, Health, Environment & Business Ethics.

Make sure that vendors execute operational processes & timelines in accordance with the service description. Verify vendor submitted invoices and post it to Elsevier finance systems (P2P).

Measure, Monitor & Report on vendor performance with respect to the Service Levels Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). To drive their improvement through initiating root cause analysis, implementation of corrective actions and monitoring of results thru CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action)/Lean Tools.

Ensure vendors have sufficient capacity to meet our on-time shipping requirements especially at quarters and year ends.

Distribution & Export Co-ordination:

Co-ordinate direct deliveries from the printers, warehouses and C&F branches & ensures correct delivery methods are used for dispatching the stocks.

Checking & Approving export documentation for each export order prior to the shipment.

To arrange timely collection of the Sale return stocks from the local freight forwarders, once stock are delivered in the warehouse monitor their processing against the agreed timelines.

Continuous Improvement Management:

Support project Implementations, Run Rapid Improvement Events & Drive Lean Initiatives (Process & cost).

Ensure vendors maintain warehouses as per 5S standards, conduct regular audits & issue audit/action reports.

Training & MIS Reporting:

Provide Training on Elsevier WMS system, processes & assess competencies & maintain a skill matrix.

Collate, Authenticate & Submit MIS reporting.

Functional Competencies :

Good Verbal and written communicator.

Strong prioritization / organizational skills

Project Management, Supplier Management and Internal stakeholder coordination.

Ability to roll out & implement agreed processes to a new setup & deliver proactive solutions.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment.

Good understanding of operational processes, ability to identify critical data elements and define Key Performance Indicators

Confident in working with external suppliers as well as internal teams and stakeholders.

Ability & Willingness to travel to PAN India location for a min period of 6 weeks in a year.

Exposure in implementing & measuring Lean processes.

Technical Competencies :

International Business English.

Computer skills, knowledge of MS-Office suite of programs and Oracle ERP system.

Microsoft Excel Reporting, analysis tools, Tableau

Experience & Skills :

8-10 years of experience in managing outsourced 3PL warehousing by (Inter)National 3PL service provider for B2B, B2T and preferably B2C markets.

Indebt experience in handling multi modal domestic freight distribution network.

Proven Skills in handling Modern Warehousing Management Techniques in multi level Racking Storage setup.

Material resource planning or logistics for pharma, automotive or high-tech industry.

Education :

MSc / MBA degree in a business-related field.

Lean / 6 Sigma Yellow Belt or higher is desirable
