Summary

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate leader to build and grow a Product Development organization for our client based out of US. The AVP of Application Development will have the opportunity to build multiple Scrum teams from the ground up. These teams will own and support customer facing and internal products. The AVP and the scrum teams will work closely with the product and development teams in the US to accelerate our client, who is an industry leader.

The AVP Application Development is a hands-on and managerial role. This person is responsible for the entire software development life cycle for applications being developed. Role is equal parts Delivery manager Engineering Manager and Architect.

Key Responsibilities

• Hiring, Talent Development, Culture
  Build a process for hiring best-in-class technical talent excited to innovate and solve challenging business problems.
• Provide staffing forecasts, and lead all resource management activity in India through Dashboards, MIS and other reports.
• Establish staff performance expectations and professional development goals through one-on-ones and performance reviews.
• Gain functional domain knowledge and support team if required by getting hands-on analyzing and troubleshooting.

Product Delivery Management

• Own the project/product delivery process, evolving it as necessary to meet the needs of the organization.
• Create and maintain project delivery timelines for the scope as per each release
• Track the progress to completion as per milestone and provide updates on a daily /weekly as agreed with stakeholders
• Set up Test processes Test strategy, Test Plan, Test Scenarios/cases
• Identify and track dependencies, issues & risks
• Design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software applications
• Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing, code quality automation and support continuous-integration process
• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance

• Work on core database structures and designs

Quality & Delivery Assurance Management set-up and manage

• Quality Gates Entry and Exit criteria for each phase
• Conforming to agreed standards & guidelines
• Using the right templates and tools
• Ensure reviews are happening
• Conform to Contractual Obligations in terms of deliverables, reporting etc.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A bachelor s degree in computer science or another relevant field is required
• Prior experience managing developers in a full SDLC (3+ Years)
• Prior experience on product development
• Minimum 14 years experience with at least 3 years in Management

Technical Skills

Required

• In-depth knowledge of .NET or above with C# (5+ Years)
• In-depth knowledge of ASP.NET MVC (5+ Years)
• In-depth knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, procedures in SQL Server (or later) (5+ Years)
• Demonstrates understanding of departmental procedures, programming standards, and all pertinent training materials

Desired

• Experience with Telerik MVC or Kendo UI preferred.
• Working knowledge with ASP.NET Web Forms, TFS, Entity Framework, SSRS, SAP Crystal reports, jQuery, AngularJS, SOAP and REST API
• Working knowledge of classic ASP and Cold Fusion desirable
• Knowledge of any warehouse management system, order fulfillment systems, EDI systems desirable
