1. ROLE OBJECTIVE:-

Drive the development, application, and commercialization of new flavors to meet the customer needs (stated and unstated)

2. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

a) Financial Responsibility:

• Partner with the BU Head- Flavours, to generate a yearly investment plan as part of the AOP to create flavours (Denova and customer need driven)
• Responsible for creation of new flavours and re-engineering of existing ones, to improve taste and optimize quality & cost
• Expand the customer base in partnership with sales and the BU head through an aggressive New product pipeline, to meet the revenue targets
• Ensure new products are developed within defined cost norms
• Implement cost saving projects in Partnership with Purchase and innovation.
• Partner with the Purchase department (Flavours) for identifying and developing Strategic Vendor base for achieving cost effective purchases of raw materials and reduction in delivery time for overall cost reduction.

b) Customer Responsibility (Internal and External) :

• Partner customers in creating signature products for them
• Understand and interpret client's needs and translate them into flavour compositions which are within clients quality specifications , price, and consistent with all regulatory guidelines and standards
• Leverage the company s specialities and technologies optimally to create new flavours, modify and match existing flavours based on business opportunities to expand the product portfolio.
• Seek regular inputs from the customers, key account managers/sales personnel, to generate new ideas, addressing customer needs (current and potential).
• Be available for Key customers at all times
• Lead initiatives to build flavour ingredient capabilities, execute training programs and expand flavour bank offerings.
• Generate and document Technical specification of Ingredients & the new Flavour developed
• Manage and maintain Creation Lab through shared responsibility with other flavorists
• Support the BU head in projects to enhance flavour/offering delivery capabilities

c) People Responsibility:

• Play a lead role in training of subordinates and team members (junior flavorists and application executives ) and mentoring them
• Build a good rapport with people across teams and ensure effective inter and intra departmental coordination and functioning
• Support people related processes like performance monitoring, appraisals, feedback, promotions
• Provides support on technical knowhow regarding flavours and Flavor Technologies, to account managers/sales team to help them with new client acquisitions
• Partner with HR in identifying suitable campuses/educational institutions and building relationships with them

d) Process Improvement:

• Identify projects to enhance flavour/offering delivery capabilities
• Assist Production and QC departments in trouble shooting, on new flavors and supporting technology, from time to time.
• Assist Purchase Department in solving materials related problems by modifying the impacted formula.
• Responsible for maintaining and regular updating of the database on master formulations and periodic amend of the formulations from time to time.
