Role Overview:

The Quality & Operational Excellence Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, safety, and product quality across local business processes. The role involves reporting on key quality and operational metrics, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives using standard quality methodologies. The Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring that day-to-day operations align with 5S, Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality & Operational Excellence Reporting:

  • Accurately report on Quality and Operational Excellence (Q&OpEx) metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess and manage local processes.

Process Auditing & Compliance:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure that operational processes adhere to established standards, procedures, and practices.
  • Utilize measurement systems to collect data that accurately reflects the characteristics of materials, products, and processes.

Quality Improvement:

  • Lead small groups in applying standard quality improvement approaches (e.g., 8D, DMAIC, A3) to implement improvements in local procedures and processes.

Independent Work & Accountability:

  • Work independently, managing day-to-day tasks efficiently without compromising 5S or HSE standards.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the company s safety protocols and contributes to a safe working environment.

Product & Process Knowledge:

  • Have basic knowledge of switchgear products and be capable of performing electrical wiring independently.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Actively identify opportunities to improve safety, operating efficiency, quality, and productivity, contributing to enhanced customer satisfaction and profitability.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

Experience:

  • 4 months to 8 years of experience in quality assurance activities, including process reviews, inspections of transformer enclosures, quality audits of vendors, and root cause analysis for Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Experience with high voltage testing, partial discharge testing, and an understanding of NABL requirements is preferred. Experience in testing will be an added advantage.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and manage day-to-day tasks without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of switchgear products and electrical wiring.
  • SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
