Job Summary

Position is accountable for designing & implementation of robust credit policy and process for vehicle finance and also ensuring regular review of Portfolio and Process.

Manage the transition to new age Digital platforms to manage risk and faster turnaround time.

  • 1.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy management:

  • Design credit policies for all Vehicle Finance - Two Wheeler (New and Used), Three Wheeler (New and Used), Electric Three Wheeler (New), Car (New and Used), Small Commercial Vehicles (New and Used) and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (New and Used) and any other Products that might be introduced.
  • Regular review and updation of the policy
  • Evaluate and provide analysis, conclusion and recommendations to determine credit facilities to customers and dealers, and communicate relevant information proactively to customers and other internal stakeholders
  • Design credit scoring models and test for implementation
  • Monitor credit granting process and ensure adherence to the laid down policies & procedures
  • Conduct periodic credit reviews with regional underwriting teams
  • Keep track of policy deviations and measure performance of such loans

Internal process:

  • Design and standardize Credit appraisal memos and other documents
  • Suggest approval guidelines for exceptional cases recommended by credit staff
  • Define negotiable terms for different products
  • Ensure sample check of applications

Field visits:

  • Travel to different business geographies & dealers to understand the business challenges, customer needs and credit assessment qualities
  • Interact with customers & dealers and understand their business. Personally visit large credit applications.

Operations:

  • Consistently review and identify redundant processes for elimination. Ensure process & policy change initiatives optimise the turnaround time for customer service delivery
  • Regular review of PDD process and make suitable changes to policy and process
  • Ensure credit decision making at regions are accurate and within defined TAT

Cross functional coordination:

  • Manage relations with credit reporting agencies, LOS/LMS providers, verification agencies and RCUs
  • Manage relationships with regional credit functions, business and collection teams and vendors.
  • Coordinate with audit, legal, vigilance, operations and customer service team for matters relating to vehicle finance products.

Regular dealer / DSA meetings carried out and market feedback obtained from dealers. Service related issues discussed and reviewed.

Portfolio management:

  • Regularly monitor delinquencies / early mortality/ nonstarters accounts. Design portfolio based early warning signals to contain credit risk.
  • Monitor late payments and bounce charges collections. Ensure charges creation in system and oversee the charges waiver process.
  • Review of portfolio with respect to delinquency/losses/fraud on the portfolio by monitoring Flow Rates and net Credit Losses.
  • Work with collections team to contain credit losses timely
  • Comply with Audit on all aspects as stipulated by the Head office

Learning & Performance:

  • Keep abreast of the changes in the industry and recommend suitable policy and process changes to management.
  • Ensure that all credit staff and branch staff are updated on the policy and process changes.
  • Ensure timely authorization of approval authorities and manage Approval grid
