VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), a VMware offering in exponential growth mode, is a hybrid cloud infrastructure platform to run modern workloads, from mission-critical workflows to containerized apps, in the private cloud, public cloud, and at the edge. VCF integrates compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud management services, including support for modern composable hardware, to create a consistent, and dynamically configurable, infrastructure.

We have ambitious goals to expand VCF infrastructure in a way that makes it simpler to run these modern workloads, which are distributed, hybrid, multi- cloud and elastic.That involves turning these full stack infrastructure clusters, hardware(s)plussoftware(s), into programmable, intelligent, intent-driven software endpoints. deployed, secured, and easily managed at scale, like a software CI/CD pipeline.The infrastructure is intent-driven, whereby an application can provide its runtime characteristics and requirements of the infrastructure and expect the entire stack to configure itself intelligently.The infrastructure also reconfigures or maintains itself on a ongoing basis, to support these hybrid applications dynamic, elastic needs.

Responsibilities

• You will focus on driving the architecture, design, engineering efficiency and optimize the development process for continuous product delivery.
• Lead and manage highly talented 8-10 engineers with varying degrees of experience, with direct responsibility to deliver complex features.
  • While you will be responsible for directly managing individuals within your team, this is a highly technical role where you will be expected to provide technical leadership both for your immediate team and more broadly across the organization.

• Work with teams across multiple sites and geographies as a collaborator and partner. You will need to be able to gain respect and trust both from a technical perspective with your immediate team and other teams including development teams, support, operations and product management.
• Operate with a ownership mindset to work in a devOps mode where the dev team is responsible for all automation, quality, CI/CD, logging, and monitor
• You should be comfortable working in a fast paced environment where priorities and direction may change rapidly as customer requirements and market direction changes.ing of services that are being built
• Scope and author plans for complex, large features which may span across multiple teams and be delivered in multiple release cycles. Track and report project and feature status at the executive level as well as to release management.
• Debug and handle complex technical design discussions across various stakeholders.
• Hands on :: Able and willing to write well-documented, high performance, reliable, maintainable code.

Required Qualifications

• 12+ years software development experience.
• Excellent design and programming skills primarily in Full Stack with a focus on enterprise server solutions using Java.
• Experience/Exposure to Automation testing and deployment tools and CI/CD
• Working knowledge of Web Services technologies. Knowledge of Spring Framework and microservices.
• Full working knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns, and commercial product development practices in a complex larger enterprise/cloud solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Hard-working with a "whatever it takes" attitude.
• Able to demonstrate effective teamwork both within the immediate team and across teams.
• Excellent communications skills and able to lead a team of highly technical individuals.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong understanding of infrastructure & virtualization technologies (compute, networking and storage)
• Familiar with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies
• Experience in building User Interface, RESTful API, test frameworks and tooling.
