Engineering Manager Storage System Test

Business Summary

The Storage and Availability in Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) BUs vision is that storage services are dynamically built and delivered per VM and controlled by policy. VMwares storage services are precisely aligned with application requirements. We are searching for an Engineering Manager to join our Storage team to work on large scale system testing storage projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of relevant work experience with 2+ years as people manager. Including technical management of software developers and system administrators/architects with system storage technologies.
• You have a consistent track record of significant projects in storage domain and testing enterprise software. Experience in designing and implementing large scale test strategies and frameworks.
• You are organized and passionate about details; able to effectively perform multiple/concurrent tasks within deadlines in a dynamic environment
• You have worked with VMware Virtualization software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical management experience of software developers, system administrators/architects or test teams.
• Experience in leading complex, technically-challenging and cross-functional storage software projects from inception to delivery.
• Experience working with vSphere, Storage Arrays, Distributed Storage and Disaster recovery products is a big plus.
• Track record of individual technical achievement.

Job Role and Responsibilities

We are searching for an Engineering manager to lead a talented team of individual contributors in the Storage System test team at Bangalore, India. You will work closely with a team of engineers and product managers across geographical boundaries so as to influence, define, execute and deliver on product roadmap in the vSphere product. In this role you will be required to

• Engage and manage a team of software engineers, perform project management tasks, code reviews etc.
• Take ownership of product quality and ensure high quality software product is released.
• Nurture, grow and mentor a group of high caliber engineers of varying seniority.
• Analyze requirements, review design specifications, develop test strategies for delivering high quality enterprise storage products for vSphere.
• Communicate with internal VMware teams, both onshore and offshore, VMware customers and partners.
• Work independently and effectively within and across teams.
